Ugandas’ opposition leader, Bobi Wine says the authorities attempted to get to his treatment room

  • Bobi said the Uganda police attempted to access his treatment room at the hospital

The musician had been admitted after an altercation with the police, leaving him with injuries from what is believed to be a gun shot.

Bobi also alleges that most roads to the hospital were blocked by the authorities, which made him resort to continue his medications from his home for sake of his safety and other people as well.

“Once the regime learned of my admission, security operatives came to the hospital and harassed the doctors treating me, demanding details of my medical records”  Bobi wrote. Bobi came to the limelight and rose to fame after challenging Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni in the presidential elections.

His existence in politics has been faced by leap of confrontations and intimidations from the security forces, particularly during tensed campaign times.

“After undergoing minor surgery, to remove all foreign bodies that had remained in my leg, I decided to return home prematurely today for the sake of my safety and  out of considerations for other patients at Nsambya Hospital who do not deserve the inconvenience and intimidation. I will get rest of my treatment from home” Bobi added.

Police spokesperson however said the heavy deployment at the hospital was to maintain law and order.
