This heartwarming journey began in 2023 when her granddaughter, New York-based stylist Diana Kaumba, visited Zambia to honor her late father. With her suitcase full of unworn outfits, Diana had a bold idea: to dress her grandmother, or “Mbuya” in Bemba, in high fashion and capture the magic.

From Farm Life to Fashion Fame

Set against the rustic backdrop of Margaret’s rural farm near Lusaka, the photos are a breathtaking mix of glamour and authenticity. Whether lounging on a leather sofa or posing with maize fields in the background, Margaret exudes confidence and grace.

Her viral breakthrough came in April 2024, when a photo of her in a red Adidas dress, adorned with chunky gold necklaces and a sparkling crown, sent Instagram into a frenzy. “I feel alive and like I can conquer the world,” Margaret shared.

From sequined tops and bold sunglasses to vibrant dresses styled in homage to Zambia’s independence, every outfit is a masterpiece. Accessories play a starring role, including oversized hats, chunky jewelry, and even a goat decked out in pearls in a playful tribute to her “GOAT” status.
