‘He is a Fine Gentleman’ – Senator Ledama Defends Haji After CS Muturi’s Explosive Allegations on Son’s Abduction

In a dramatic twist, Narok County Senator Ledama Ole Kina has come to the defense of National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General Noordin Haji following explosive allegations by Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Justin Muturi. Muturi accused Haji of being involved in the abduction of his son, Leslie Muturi, during the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests.

Without directly addressing the claims, Senator Ledama dismissed the allegations, suggesting they are a calculated move by Muturi to remain relevant. “Noordin Haji is a fine gentleman—sober and a true pastoralist who is not easily cowed,” Ledama asserted, indicating his belief in Haji’s integrity and professionalism.

Muturi’s claims, detailed in a document, narrate a tense sequence of events involving several high-ranking officials. He described how he sought the help of then Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and even President William Ruto to secure Leslie’s release. According to Muturi, Haji initially denied any involvement, but a direct conversation with the president revealed otherwise, leading to Leslie’s eventual release.

This development has ignited a flurry of reactions on social media, with many speculating on the broader implications for national security and the rise in abductions. As the narrative unfolds, it remains to be seen how these serious accusations will impact the political landscape and the public’s trust in the nation’s intelligence services.

The controversy surrounding Haji and Muturi’s allegations has opened a new chapter in Kenya’s political and security discourse. With public figures like Senator Ledama stepping in to defend Haji, the incident underscores the complexities of navigating truth and perception in high-stakes political environments.
