Bernice Saroni has criticized the government’s failure to fulfill its promise to assist the ailing musician Peter Mwangi, popularly known as Miracle Baby.
In a TikTok video, Saroni revealed that Miracle Baby’s partner, Carol Katrue, contacted her urgently seeking aid for the musician’s medical needs, particularly for an ostomy bag, which they couldn’t afford.
Despite earlier assurances from President William Ruto to cover the expenses, Saroni learned from Katrue that the promised help never materialized, except for a partial amount of Ksh300,000 provided by Ruto through former Starehe MP Jaguar.
Determined to help, Saroni launched a live fundraising session on TikTok, managing to collect Ksh67,000 to support Miracle Baby’s medical expenses.
Miracle Baby requires Ksh45,000 weekly for medical bills, including purchasing ostomy bags and paying for a nurse’s services. Additionally, he needs Ksh500,000 for an upcoming surgery to restore his digestive system’s functionality.
Saroni urged continued support to raise the necessary funds before Miracle Baby’s scheduled surgery in three weeks.
Furthermore, Saroni called upon President Ruto to clarify the situation regarding his pledge to assist Miracle Baby and questioned the actions of Jaguar and KRG the Don, who intervened on Ruto’s behalf.
Despite Ruto’s directive to Jaguar to facilitate Miracle Baby’s treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), the promised financial assistance did not fully materialize, leaving Miracle Baby and his family in dire need.
