In a bold move that could reshape Kenya’s political future, Kalonzo Musyoka has announced plans to unveil the Wiper Patriotic Front—a new political movement aimed at empowering Generation Z to lead the charge for justice, transparency, and good governance.
Speaking at a lively rally on June 6, 2025, in Malili, Machakos County, Kalonzo called on Kenyans—especially young people—to register as voters and play an active role in shaping the nation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Riding on the momentum of the 2024 Finance Bill protests, Kalonzo hailed Gen Z’s bravery and declared June 25, 2025, as “Liberation Day” to honour those who lost their lives during the demonstrations. He proposed making it a national public holiday—a symbolic tribute to Kenya’s fearless youth.
Kalonzo didn’t hold back in his criticism of the government either. He questioned the source of recent public handouts, accusing President Ruto and Interior CS Kithure Kindiki of misusing taxpayer money for political mileage. “Where is this money coming from? It’s the people’s money,” he said. (“Na ni pesa ya wananchi.”)
With this new direction, Kalonzo is positioning the Wiper Patriotic Front as a fresh alternative to the ailing Azimio coalition, aiming to unite the opposition and expand beyond Wiper’s traditional base.
“This is a liberation journey for Kenya, led by the fearless spirit of our youth,” he declared.
Supporters have welcomed his focus on youth leadership and accountability, while others are waiting to see whether this proposed movement will materialize into real change. As the road to 2027 heats up, one question lingers: Will this bold new front be the force that redefines Kenya’s future?
