  • The matatu stole the show in Eldoret town as Eldorians marvelled at it before visiting his village home in Sugoi

Money fest made headlines after an exposé with citizen tv showing the matatu breaking traffic rules and forging the mandatory inspections by National Transport and Regulation Authority(NTSA).

Residents of the now Eldoret City gathered in jubilation to watch George Ruto’s  Matatu as it visited their village home in Sugoi. The visit comes a few weeks after the matatu was highly critisized for noncompliance with NTSA regulations and Traffic Rules.

In an exposé,  Citizen Tv took it head on showing how the matatu is operated by some rogue drivers who clearly though they were above the law. The matatu was s seen violating Traffics rules in front of Traffic police who seemed very helpless.

In an interview with one of the matatu driver, Citizen tv reveled the impunity actions by the matatu operators, including picking and dropping at prohibited places, Reversing at a round about, amongst other things which the operators cried out for.

Kenyans took to the social media expressing how frustrated they are from the regimental punitive actions and most people felt like the first family is taking it overboard.

Barely a week after the incidents, the President’s son decided to take his highly critized matatu home to pay a visit. However, contrary to many Kenyans expectations, residents of Eldoret lined up along the road, cheering and marvelling at the matatu in a scene that looked like a classic case of he is “our own” man and “we don’t care” what you say.

Social media users  took to online plartforms expressing their disatisfactions with the matatu behaviour.

‘Karibu wasalimie Motto wa mkuu.’
