Kogo had applied for compensation from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) five years ago but was unsuccessful. Citizen TV visited Dismas at his home in Ngong sometime in December 2024 to bring to light his tale of frustration and pleas to KWS to compensate him following a hyena attack 5 years ago that saw him suffering deep cut wound and lose one finger; but the pleas appear to have fallen on deaf ears.
Dismas said in the interview with Citizen TV
The man decided to take own life after everything seemed going tough on him, with zero hopes and expectrations that KWS would compesate him whatsoever.
Dismas is said to have received a letter from the said authority informing him that his compensation had already been deposited to his bank account, only for him to find nil balance.
KWS are yet to respond to any of the occurrences despite the family trying to hold on to them and content the situation.
