Harmonize hit back at Kenyan musician-turn-politician Charles Njagua Kanyi aka Jaguar after he picked up a fight with him.Jaguar, who is also Sports Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), rubbed Harmonize and Akothee the wrong way after he stated there was no way the two musicians would be richer than him.
However,Jaguar said that he would retire from music and resign as Sport CAS if Akothee and Harmonize were richer than him.The former Starehe Member of Parliament (MP) made the comment while responding to vloggers who asked him about a rich list that ranked the wealthiest musicians in East Africa.
“Ukiangalia hio list mimi nimekua kwa industry for more than 15 years na unaona Harmonize ako number what nini lakini mimi naweza swear hapa before nyinyi kama mtu kama Akothee amenishinda na Harmonize naweza kaacha muziki leo…..”Naacha muziki leo. Kwa sababu unajua wale wanachukua zile vitu unaona Range Rover, wanachukia hizi lakini mimi nimefanya vitu mingi sana staki nikae kama najigamba lakini kwa hio list wakienda into details yani kuna watu yani wakinishinda hapo naweza acha ata resign kwa hii kiti nko nayo,” Jaguar said.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Akothee criticized Jaguar for comparing himself with a woman, saying most musicians run into politics to remain powerful but not for the sake of a common citizen.
“Ati nani amesema He is Richer than THE MADAMBOSS 🤣 . Since when did men forget themselves and start competing & comparing themselves with WOMEN?….”Most celebs/musicians run into politics to make money and to remain Relevant in power 🤣🤣🤣 not to help the common mwananchi or Change the Economy, you feel good when people chase you,” she wrote in part.
“Again anyone with less than 3.5 m followers should not mention my name , you are clout chasing I am not in your league 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think in the Kenyan Entertainment industry only Eric Omondi should mention my name.
“Nisikie mwanaume mwingine ati nyenyenye na ma baby mama mumejaza kila taun nkt ama ndio wealth?…..Rich na mkiitwa fundraising ya foundation mna bluetick lakini harusi hamtaki kuwachwa nje .unasikia tuu mbona haukunialika harusi?” She added.
Harmonize on the other hand slammed Jaguar while commenting on his Instagram post where he shared a photo of him greeting President William Ruto in Nyandarua when he arrived for the burial of the late Mukami Kimathi.
“Accompanied our President, Deputy President and other leaders to condole with the family and friends of the late Mukami Kimathi, wife of freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi, Njambini. Funeral service held in Nyandarua County,” Jaguar wrote.
Commenting on Jaguar’s post, Harmonize laughed at the Sport CAS asking if his association with Ruto was the reason why he claimed he was richer than him.Harmonize further said he too started rubbing shoulders with heads of state long ago during the era of the late President John Magufuli.
The Bongo singer also taunted Jaguar, telling him that at his age he should just retire from music (Jaguar a few days ago released a new song dubbed ‘Unthinkable’ featuring Wasafi signee Lavalava)….”That Y You Said You Got Money Over Me Lol 😂😂😂 I have already denied your title from our former president magufuli if I was at your age I would have retired from music LOVE YOU BRO KEEP BANK ON IT ✌️✌️😂😂 I love you big bro keep on cashing out keep banking on it 100%,” Harmonize commented on Jaguar’s post.
Additionally,a list purported to be from Forbes Magazine in early April 2023 ranked the top 10 richest musicians in East Africa.Akothee was ranked fourth on the list with a net worth of $7.6 million/Ksh1.007 billion. She was the only woman on the list.Jaguar was ranked seventh with a $7 million/Ksh959 million net worth while Harmonize was eighth with a $5.9 million/Ksh808 million net worth.
