Ruto appoints Musician Juguar for position of Commission of Justice.
President William Ruto has put forward the name of ex-Starehe MP Charles Jaguar, commonly referred to as Jaguar, for a position on the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ).
In a message from the State House on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Ruto nominated Jaguar along with experienced attorney Dorothy Jemator Kimengech, who is also slated to be a commissioner.
The two received nominations alongside Charles Orinda Dulo, who is anticipated to succeed the former chairperson, Florence Kajuju.
While nominating Dulo, Ruto stated that he was a seasoned advocate of the High Court with over 20 years of experience in both public and private sectors of legal practice.
Dulo was one of the original members of the faculty at Daystar University’s School of Law, where he continues to work as a lecturer. He has also taught law at several universities, such as Strathmore University School of Business, Daystar University School of Law, and the School of Law at Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT), Ruto observed.
Jaguar lost his Starehe position when the ruling UDA party awarded a nomination certificate to his competitor in the 2022 race. Nonetheless, the UDA candidate was defeated by Amos Mwago, a candidate from the Jubilee Party.
