President William Ruto on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, announced important changes impacting the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports headed by Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
President Ruto ordered the transfer of the Kenya National Innovation Agency from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports to the Office of the President.
In support of the decision, President Ruto emphasized that relocating the agency to a central position will enhance its effectiveness across the government.
Ruto made the announcements during the launch of the 4th Kenya Innovation Week in Nairobi.
The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) is a State Corporation created under the Science, Technology and Innovation Act.
It was established to develop and oversee the national innovation system. The Agency is therefore tasked with the coordination, promotion, and regulation of the National Innovation System.
