Senators lose cool, walks out of a committee meeting.

Senators Sifuna of Nairobi, Onyanko of Kisii and Samson Cherargei walked out of the yesterday  after a heated exchange with CS Mbadi over Adani deal.

In a committee meeting on Wednesday 24th, when the Transport Committee summoned CS Treasury John Mbadi, The Senators couldn’t agree on how the CS was responding to their question.

The senate had summoned Cs John Mbadi to respond to issues about the JKIA -Adani deal, particularly the tendering process.

Senate inquiry into the Adani-JKIA takeover deal descended into fire blows on Thursday as senators engaged in heated exchanges with Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, who was testifying before the Transport Committee.

The tension escalated during  the afternoon session when the Cabinet Secretary took the witness stand to defend government on the Adani group take over.

Attempts by the chair, senator Karungo wa Thangwa to restore peace in the house were futile when he was also called out for uncouth rchairing of the committee, with threats to have him impeached as the chair.

Kist senator Richard Onyanko furiously tabled new evidence to the committee, from other companies that expressed similar interest as Adani group. He begged the question as to weather the CS was are of that, a question that Mbadi seemed to dodge, smiting that did not sit well with Senator Onyanko.
