DP Gachagua on Monday evening, in a presser held at his official Karen residence he gave his side of the story, discpunti allegations made by the mover of his impeachment motion step by steps.
He said that all that which he is facing is pure political witch hunt, terming all that which was presented in his impeachment motion as outrageous, and pure malicious aiming at taunting his name and that of his family. ” A decision has been made that Gachagua is no longer useful to this administration” DP Gachagua said.
The DP seemed to capture emotions of many, as he meticulously disclosed sources of his properties, exposing his life to public scrutiny. Presenting himself to the court of public opinion regarding the issues in question and what the mover of his impeachment motion MP Kibwezi West accused him of, toping the list amongst other is the graft allegation, put the DP in safe corner as he will be defending himself before the parliament on 8th. “I think it’s only fair if the people who elected me as their Deputy President to get response of these outrageous allegations of me that have no basis, and a scheme o remove me from office” He continued
Rigathi Gachagua explained all his properties in question, and how he acquired each and everyone naming his late brother Ndirutu Gachagua as one who bequeathed him with properties worthy millions to take care of on behalf of his family.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is not an ordinary politician. His has challenged the intelligence of this country. He decided to present himself before the court of public opinion ahead of his parliament hearing, and trust me, some MPs will change their tunes by his moving speech, which from time to time swayed emotions of many and viewed the man as on who is being punished from unnecessary political persecution.
He has literally threw the mover of the motion under the bus and now it remains sole business of the mover to proofs allegations. What the DP did was a bold dare to all politicians—’if you can, table your properties and wealth as I so do’. It’s a good way to start a lifestyle audit of our leaders. He may be clumsy at times, but he calculated his move wisely. This might have some political implications to the embattled DP which by view to things and opinions of the public, he has won a step up.
