‘Unity in Action’: DP Kindiki Lauds Ruto-Uhuru Meeting for National Stability

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has commended the recent meeting between President William Ruto and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, hailing it as a step toward national unity and stability.

In a statement shared on his official X account on Monday, December 9, 2024, Kindiki emphasized that the collaboration between the two leaders allows the country to collectively address pressing development priorities.

“The rapprochement between President William Ruto and former President Uhuru Kenyatta strengthens national unity and stability, enabling the country to focus on key development goals,” Kindiki noted.

The meeting, held at Uhuru’s rural home in Gatundu, Kiambu County, saw the two leaders discuss various national issues. According to State House, President Ruto acknowledged Uhuru’s statesmanship during the peaceful transition of power after the 2022 elections and commended his continued support for Kenya’s progress under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

Leaders across different sectors also celebrated the meeting. COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli expressed gratitude, noting that such engagements foster economic growth, job creation, and stability.

“On behalf of Kenyan workers, I thank President @WilliamsRuto and former President H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta for their efforts to address national interests. This move will attract investment and promote economic prosperity,” Atwoli remarked.

The meeting has been widely perceived as a symbol of political maturity and a collective commitment to the nation’s development.
