‘Western Will Not Be a Walk in the Park’ Caleb Amisi to Ruto

In a post on his official X account on Monday, November 11, 2024, Amisi commented that the Head of State is attempting to secure the Mulembe Nation votes at a minimal cost.

The parliamentarian cited a number of issue that will make it  a hard nut to crack for Ruto to win the mulembe nation.

The second-term Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker contends that President Ruto is trying to attract Western Kenya voters through political intermediaries, whom Amisi refers to as longstanding political figures.

Caleb Amisi, the Member of Parliament for Saboti Constituency, has cautioned President William Ruto to prepare for a challenging and unpredictable journey as he seeks to win over voters in the vote-rich Western region ahead of the 2027 elections.

Amisi argues this approach is rooted in the notion that votes from other regions come with a price, unlike those from Western Kenya.

However, he asserts that the strategy will be more complex than the president anticipates, emphasizing that winning support in the Western Kenya region will not be straightforward.

Additionally, he notes that historical injustices may complicate President Ruto’s efforts to secure the Mulembe Nation votes.

“Ruto wants western votes next election at a throw-away price through the perennial political dinosaurs, ostensibly because Kikuyu votes have a price tag. Well, think twice. Vindu vichenjanga (Things change). Western will not be a walk in the park because of historical injustices!” Amisi stated.
