Musician Eko Dydda could fail to be sworn in as the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Mathare North ward after he lost his victory certificate in a brutal broad daylight attack. The Mathare North MCA-elect was attacked by a knife-wielding gang at Stima Members Ground in Ruaraka after collecting his election certificate.
Eko Dydda, who had just won the MCA seat, was in the company of members of his campaign team when they were ambushed.Reports indicate that the attackers threatened to cause bodily harm to the musician-turned-politician if he didn’t do as ordered.
However, the attackers roughed up Eko Dydda and his team before fleeing with the victory certificate that was handed to him by IEBC and other valuables.
In a post on social media, the Mathare North MCA-elect vowed to get back his victory certificate which is key for him to be sworn in.
‘I will do my best to get back my certificate, it’s simple, we can’t let a few goons to keep forcing an entire ward to recycle bad leadership. Why do people vote if their votes won’t count. I PROMISE MATHARE NORTH WARD THAT YOUR VOTES MUST COUNT THIS TIME,” Eko Dydda wrote.
