Tragedy as Mother, 2 Daughters Murdered in Eastleigh

The family of the victims in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area is seeking justice after the three, who disappeared on Monday, October 21, were discovered dead.

The bodies were located in Bahati, Parklands, and Machakos, respectively, all exhibiting similar injuries, according to police.

The family reported that the two girls, aged 11 and 22, left home on Monday evening around 5:30 PM to search for their mother, who had gone out earlier for skin treatment in Eastleigh but had not returned or communicated.

They described it as unusual for her to be away for that long.

All indications suggest they were lured to their deaths.

The family of Amina Abdirashid Dahir and Nusuiba Dahir arrived at the city mortuary to confront their worst fears.

They identified the bodies of the two girls at the mortuary.

The bodies had been retrieved from separate locations within the city.

The two daughters had taken a taxi to search for their mother.

CCTV footage showed Amina and Nusuiba making a phone call before a car arrived and they both got in, marking the last sighting of them alive.

Upon daybreak, the family received the devastating news that their children had been found in Parklands and Bahati, while their mother’s body was located in a bush in Machakos, killed in a similar fashion.

Police indicate this may suggest a single perpetrator is responsible for the three killings.

A team of detectives is pursuing the case, intending to interview close family members as part of the investigation.

Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei stated that a team from the homicide unit has taken charge of the investigation.

“We are still determining the reasons behind this tragedy, but our teams are on the ground,” he stated.

The family is demanding prompt investigations into the murders.

In a separate incident in Kisumu, the body of a middle-aged woman, a business operator at Otonglo market, was discovered discarded along the Kisumu-Busia highway after a suspected murder.

Police reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday morning.

Local residents noted this as the third reported case in the area, following the discovery of two men’s bodies in Nyamasaria and Maraba in separate incidents.

It appeared the woman had been killed at the location by assailants who remain unidentified.

The motive has yet to be established.

Police are investigating these incidents.
