Inside the Celebrity Payment Debate: Artists Speak Out on Media Interview Compensation.

TV47 TV presenter Dr. Ofweneke recently sparked controversy by revealing that a scheduled guest declined an interview due to lack of facilitation. This disclosure ignited a fierce debate on whether media houses should compensate artists for their appearances.

Ofweneke disclosed that Arbantone artiste Stoopid Boy canceled the interview last minute, citing non-payment. Stoopid Boy defended his decision, asserting, “Hakuna njia unaweza kuwa kijana, maarufu, na bila pesa. Lazima ujue vile naishi ndio uniite kwa hiyo ujinga yako.”

DJ Shiti weighed in, criticizing both parties involved. He remarked, “Watu walikuwa wanajamia Ofweneke bure, makosa big Ofweneke pia alifanya… Stoopid Boy kama alikataa interview at first, sijui ilifika point gani anadai ganji. Infaa kukuwa na maelewano.”

KRG The Don offered a balanced perspective, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between artists and the media. He stated, “I don’t wanna get in crossfire with anyone coz I am a media house owner.”

Meanwhile, Kenyan Prince injected humor into the discussion with a social media comment: “SO MNAPIGANIA THAO KUMI AMA๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.” Ezra FBI added a light-hearted perspective, joking, “Unakataa kwenda interview ukae juu ya mawe ukikula wow wow ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ anyway the name says it all.”

Furthermore, Willis Raburu defended artists’ rights, asserting, “If an artist wants to be paid for an interview, that’s their right as well.” Moya David added another humorous note, laughing, “Umesahau jina yake ni nani? ๐Ÿ˜…” Oga Obinna chimed in with more humor, stating, “He lived up to his name.”

In summary, the diverse perspectives shared by celebrities underscore the complexity of the debate surrounding payment for media interviews. While some advocate for compensation, others stress the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation. This highlights the need for ongoing dialogue and consideration of multiple viewpoints within the industry.Stay tuned for more entertaining updates
