In a heartwarming gesture, Embu West’s MP Gitonga Mukunji has extended a lifeline to Charles Muchiri Njagi, better known by his stage name Slim, a promising rapper from Gatunduri village. Slim, who once collaborated with Kenyan music heavyweights like Mejja and Juakali, has recently been struggling with alcohol addiction, which derailed his once-promising career.
During a recent meeting, MP Mukunji was captivated by Slim’s talent after the rapper delivered an impromptu performance that left those present in awe. Recognizing the potential that still exists within the embattled artist, Mukunji offered not only to support Slim in battling his addiction but also promised to facilitate his return to the recording studio. This initiative includes a mega music launch that could reignite Slim’s musical journey.
Additionally, MP Mukunji highlighted the success of another individual who overcame similar struggles. IT guru Martin Maloba, who had been battling addiction, has successfully rehabilitated and secured a position in Mukunji’s office. This serves as a testament to the MP’s commitment to helping individuals in his constituency overcome challenges and reclaim their lives.
With this new support, Slim’s return to the music scene could mark a significant turning point, not only for his career but also as an inspiration to others facing similar battles.
