Hell break lose for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as Mt. Kenya East Mps endorse Kithure Kindiki as their kingpin

Political leaders from Mt Kenya East region, seek to move own their own. The region which is comprised of Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu Isiolo counties anounced a split from the large Mt. Kenya umbrella to fo customers their energy on Mt. Kenya east.

The leaders who attended 6th edition Ura Gate cultural festival in Tharaka Nithi solidified their unity of purpose, claiming they have never been regarded as equals in the large Mt. Kenya political wing.

The leaders vowed to concentrate their energies and resources on East mountain side, saying if the president must address the mountaineers, then he must summon them as equals to the table.

Chuka Mp Patrick Munene said Mt. Kenya East has been thrown under bus in terms of projects, claiming major developments lobbed in the region are not commissioned in Mt.Kenya East region.

“We do not need to be associated with mlima. If the president wants a sitting with leaders from mount Kenya, he will have to invite us first as Mt. Kenya east leaders. Projects such as roads have been lobbed in the name of Mt. Kenya region but nothing is on the ground in our counties” The Mp said.

When Tigania East mp took the stage, he also was not left behind on the subject. Mpuru said that it was time for the.m to support one of their own, instead of banking the larger Mt. Kenya political wing. ” It is time for Mt. Kenya East to unite and support their own. The presidency cannot revolve around Kikuyu and Kalenjin” he said.

Tharaka Mp said the region has been long enough neglected under the GEMA political outfit. He was of the opinion that it was time for the Eastside containers to move as their own, and bargain for a position at the dinner table now their own.

“It is time we split from from Mt.Kenya politics. We are not treated well and they forget about us yet we speak about the unity of GEMA. We have capable leaders and we will speak in one voices as Mt. Kenya east region” Gitonga said

This sentiments comes a week after the Deputy President visited Meru, in a church service where his function was only attended by three parliamentarians, indicating a major split in the GEMA Politics. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has always been singing the mountain, until he was nicknamed so. It appears like his efforts to bring the region together are futile and bore no fruits.
