EACC arrest IEBC staff for allegedly forging academic papers to secure Job.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested Caroline Sabiri Manyange.

Caroline Manyange has served at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for 12 years, accumulating a total of 37 million Kenyan Shillings, which the Commission aims to recover.

She allegedly used forged documents to secure a promotion at the IEBC, allowing her to earn a cumulative salary and benefits amounting to 37 million Kenyan Shillings.

The EACC has arrested a senior official at the IEBC for unlawfully obtaining a senior position through the use of forged documents. Caroline Manyange, the manager for boundaries delimitation, is alleged to have forged her academic certificates to obtain employment with the Electoral Commission. The investigation reveals that she fabricated a master’s degree in Arts (Population Studies), which she falsely claims to have obtained from the University of Nairobi.

Caroline has used these documents over time to secure promotions at the IEBC, resulting in her earning a cumulative total of 37 million. Her arrest came after a recommendation from the DPP, which concurred with the EACC to proceed with the arrest. She was processed at the EACC Integrity Centre while awaiting arraignment at the Milimani Law Court.
