Runyenjes MPs Erick Karemba turns 40 in style. The young parliamentarian celebrated his 40th birthday on October 21, 2024.
He chose to mark the occasion by spreading love with his family and various orphans from children’s homes around Runyenjes. His significant day became a blessing for many, even receiving abundant goodwill.
Eric Muchangi Karemba is a Kenyan politician and businessman, currently serving as the Member of Parliament for the Runyenjes constituency, in his second term, and as the Chairman of the Labour and Social Affairs Committee. Runyenjes is located in Embu County in the eastern region of Kenya.
Karemba was initially elected to Parliament as a youth leader, driven by a vision for transformative progress to uplift his community. He was elected to parliament at the age of 33. Karemba is currently serving his second term in the National Assembly.
Karemba made history by becoming the first Akorino MP in the history of Kenya. Karemba currently holds the position of chairman of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.
In 2013, Karemba contested for the Runyenjes constituency parliamentary seat under the Alliance Party of Kenya but lost narrowly to Cecily Mbarire, who is now the current governor of Embu County. He contested again in 2017 under the Jubilee party and won the election, securing 59,447 votes compared to his closest competitor, who received 5,184 votes. In Parliament, Karemba served as a member of the education committee. He also served as a member of the Library and ICT Committee of the National Assembly. He is currently the Chairman of the Labour Committee of the Kenyan National Assembly and a member of the Liaison Committee, which includes all chairpersons.
