President William Ruto has once again reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Kenya, emphasizing his unwavering dedication to improving the nation despite the challenges. Speaking during a service in Taita Taveta on Sunday, he boldly declared, “I am a man on a mission, and we must change this country. I have a great dream for Kenya, and by God’s grace, we are going to transform this nation.”
His words reflect his firm belief that Kenya is on the brink of a transformative journey, one that will change the course of the country’s future. This powerful statement is just one example of Ruto’s long-standing commitment to driving the nation toward its full potential, a vision he has consistently reinforced since taking office in September 2022. In June, he spoke again about his drive to improve the livelihoods of all Kenyans, pledging to make bold decisions, even in the face of adversity. “This country will change, I promise you,” he assured. “We are going to unlock its full potential because we are determined to act decisively.”
Ruto’s administration has already initiated several key interventions that are part of his broader plan to actualize Kenya’s Vision 2030 goals. Among the notable measures, he has focused on enhancing the independence of the Judiciary, providing increased budgetary allocations to ensure greater efficiency and fairness in the justice system. Another significant reform has been granting financial autonomy to the Inspector-General of Police, ensuring greater accountability and operational independence.
On the economic front, Ruto has introduced initiatives such as the rollout of the Hustler Fund and measures aimed at improving agriculture, including the subsidization of 5.5 million bags of fertilizer to enhance food security. Ruto’s government has also prioritized women’s empowerment, with a plan to increase the Women Enterprise Fund from Sh4.5 billion to Sh13.5 billion within three years.
Further solidifying his commitment to transforming Kenya’s education and healthcare systems, Ruto’s administration has restructured the university funding model and introduced the National Open University. The Social Health Insurance Act (2023) has also been enacted, ensuring affordable healthcare for all citizens. These initiatives demonstrate Ruto’s strategic approach to fostering long-term growth and inclusivity across all sectors.
Throughout his leadership, President Ruto has remained resolute, encouraging all Kenyans to join him in this mission of national transformation. His message is clear: change is coming, and it will require the collective effort of all citizens. “We are determined to take this nation to the next level,” he said with unwavering confidence, inviting the entire nation to embrace the journey of change.
