Machakos Deputy Governor Mwangangi asks Kalonzo not to attend Raila’s planned rally.

Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has said that he will advise Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka against joining Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga in the planned public rally set for Wednesday.

Speaking during a church service in AIC Ekalakala, Machakos County on Sunday, Mwangangi called on the church to be at the forefront of establishing a dialogue between President William Ruto and Odinga to avoid disuniting Kenyans.

The outspoken leader also opined that Kalonzo should spearhead the talks alongside the church.Mwangangi also urged President Ruto and Raila to have the interests of Kenyans as a priority, insisting that dialogue is the way to solve the wrangles and demos will only bring more harm than good.

The plan to hold public demonstrations by Raila stems from the suspension of the four IEBC commissioners as well as what he terms as skewed public appointments.

He is also accusing Ruto’s administration of confronting the ‘Cherera Four’ as a plan to influence the 2027 elections. The four are Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang’aya.Though, Cherera and Nyang’aya have handed in their resignations.
