Drama unfolded in the Senate during the impeachment proceedings of the Deputy President. The Senate, functioning as a court, witnessed the order of legal proceedings. The trial for the impeachment motion commenced on October 16, with the National Assembly presenting its case against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Gachagua was impeached by a majority of 281 members of parliament in the National Assembly.
The situation intensified when the National Assembly summoned its witness, Dr. Andrew Mulwa will undergo cross-examination by the Deputy President’s team of advocates. Here is a part of the cross-examination proceeding:

adv. Ndegwa Njiru: Have you observed any indications that the Deputy President interfered with the process of preserving autonomy at KEMSA?
Dr. Andrew Mulwa: I cannot claim ownership or disownership of a statement that I did not make.
Adv. Ndegwa Njiru: Who was obstructing the processes and autonomy of KEMSA according to that statement?
