Kithure Kindiki dropped as UDA deputy after ANC merger.

UDA completes merger with ANC; Issa Timamy named new Deputy Party Leader

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has been removed from his position as deputy party leader of the UDA party.

This change follows the party’s merger with Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party. UDA Chairperson, Governor Cecily Mbarire, announced the change, assuring members that efforts are underway to enhance the party.

Kindiki was appointed as deputy party leader just two months ago after his predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua, was removed from the second highest office and subsequently excluded from the political alliance.

Cecily Mbarire announced the changes on Friday, indicating that the merger would impact internal structures and leadership within the party and the broader Kenya Kwanza coalition.

The Embu Governor emphasized that this move aims to foster an inclusive entity that promotes unity and democracy, asserting that the merger would lead to a change in the UDA faction’s name, logo, symbol, and overall brand.

“Appreciating and reflecting on the shared and common ideals of the primacy of economic empowerment, peace and development, the UDA party and the Amani National Congress have today merged as one known as the United Democratic Alliance Party that is also going to change the name. “The party has incorporated ANC’s identity symbols in the logo, imagery, topography, and brand of the new merged party and shall resultantly undertake a myriad of other changes in the governance and operations of the party.” Mbarirw said

In the new party leadership structure, ANC Party Leader Issa Timamy who is the Lamu Governor, will assume the role of UDA Deputy Party Leader.
