Murang’a man jailed for 20 years for defiling mentally handicapped woman.

A man in Murang’a County has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for raping a 25-year-old woman who is partially deaf, partially dumb, and mentally handicapped.

According to the prosecution, Samuel Kamau, took advantage of the woman after her parents had gone to a funeral.

“The accused raped her in a nearby bush where he was caught by the woman’s brother,” the public prosecutor said.

Elsewhere in Mombasa, a man has been jailed for two years for vandalizing and stealing Standard Gauge Railway parts.Ali Badi Chumvi, alias Swaleh Hussein, pleaded guilty to stealing an SGR metallic pole worth Ksh.30,000.

Appearing before Justice Mutuku, Chumvi also confessed to have been previously jailed for 8 months for vandalising and stealing SGR line.Justice Mutuku said that the man’s action was a threat to the safety of the SGR and that he wasn’t remorseful.

Hussein’s co-accused, Boniface Ngonda, pleaded not guilty and was released on a Ksh.200,000 bond with one surety, with an alternative Ksh.100,000 cash bail. The case will be mentioned on November 29 for pre-trial.
