Class 8 pupil on the run after beating teacher in Narok.

Police in Trans Mara, Narok County, are looking for a Class 8 pupil at Nkararo Primary School who escaped after slapping a teacher on duty when asked to hand over his assignment.

According to the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary in Trans Mara Willy Korir, the teacher, Charles Miruka lives with albinism and was slapped in the face.He is said to have bled and also lost his sunglasses during the incident that occurred in the presence of other students.

Mr. Miruka was treated at a local medical facility and discharged while the pupil fled the school compound and is yet to be found.

However, the KNUT secretary called for the immediate arrest of the suspect who is alleged to be above 18 years of age.

“We are calling upon the police to immediately arrest the suspect. Why is it when a teacher is wronged no one is taking the matter seriously? We are calling upon the government to give maximum protection to all the teachers in the country” said Mr. Korir.
