HOPE: How to find hope when all seems lost

Hope. What is hope?

Is it a feeling? Bunch of Emotions? or a decision? Does is fully rely on us? is it predetermined or free willed upon us?

Can we force ourselves to hope for a better future when all seems lost? Is a better future even possible?

Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines hope as a “desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillments.”

To me, HOPE- Is the resting place, the home, where the mind, body and soul finds fulfilment in every situation one finds themselves in

As human beings, we experience hope when we anticipate certain events occurring in our lives to bring us happiness and fulfillment. Hope is a powerful driving force. It propels us forward and aids us in envisioning our future.

There is a spiritual aspect to hope. It is based on faith in a higher power. Hope draws us nearer to God as we place our trust and faith in Him. The unseen strength of God fills our spirit with hope and positivity. We quietly pray that God will hear us, guide us through the darkness, and help us to see the light once more.

Hope provides us with a sense of clarity and brings stability to our lives. Hope fosters optimism as we look forward to positive outcomes. We awaken with the conviction that today will surpass yesterday.

I have hoped for many things throughout my life, from graduating from school and earning my degree, to discovering my true love and starting a family. When life took a difficult turn, I held on to hope to assist me in navigating through challenges.

In my life, when I encountered difficulties, I never lost hope, no matter the circumstances I faced or how unfair life seemed. I always reminded myself that it was just a bad day, not a bad life.

Losing hope in life truly means NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE BEYOND the mess on the floor.

It often feels as if nothing else matters besides your current situation. This sentiment can lead to feelings of WORTHLESSNESS and perhaps being unwanted by the very society you are part of, or even by yourself.

Allowing ourselves to sit in a puddle and feel sorry for ourselves is a dangerous place to be. Keeping to your daily routine can really help you out of a situation while holding unto that hope that, not all is lost and feel alive, while keeping that glimpse of hope.

We often mistake having control over our  lives as having everything in order, knowing where we are heading and having a foolproof or having a blueprint manuscript plan of action to get there. However, this is not entirely true. We can learn to take control through changing the smallest of habits or beliefs, which in turn causes a ripple effect towards maintaining our hope.
