Famous tweep and government critic Maverick Aoko yesterday penned a very emotional message regarding our sense of democracy.
Aoko took to her tweeter expressing how disillusioned she by the very democracy that we ought to have been proud of.
Recently, Maverick found her self in the rough side of the system, after she was abducted by DCI officers and grilled for what was termed as ‘ being personal’
On 5th September 2024, Aoko took to her X, former twitter to rant about the system governance, use of abnormal and unnecessary force to innocent citizens who are just but putting leaders they elected in to accountability.

Ranting about the democracy that the country really fought for, and what we think is really a good thing for us, but apparently turned into a tool for protecting a few’s interest, power and properties. Aoko explained in her statement how she ended up miscarriage, perhaps from the environment and traumas the authorities subjected her to. Her believe that, one must risk the ruthless honest has made her loved by many and disliked by many in equal magnitude.
Her choice of path as one who blatantly speaks as it is is what made her recently encounter with the wrong side of the system, roughed and grilled by the dci for going personal on some state officers and civil servants. “But when a girl a girls whose only crime is tweeting the truth, is inundated with threats of re-arrests and Death by a supposed independent institution working at behest of certain cabal of filthy, inept, murderous politician, so much so, she has to flee her abode and go incognito, then what we flaunt as a country is nothing but geographical demarcations ruled by a mafia” She lamented.
Aoko move to explain how she could not access her ulcers medications while under the authorities hands. She then was transported to a small health center, far away from the city. She believe that public servants should be scrutinized right from personal character, to the public figure they display. ” If you seek public office, you are soliciting for our collective trust in your abilities, capabilities and character” Aoko added.
Aoko expressed her displeasure with how democracy is conduct is conducted in the country. She holds firm the opinion that voters must scrutinize personalities and characters of the leaders they put in offices, adding that it tell much about who they are rather what they display. “The people’s personal lives can tell more about their character than their public life which is often scripted and choreographed to stupefy mases” Aoko said
“Negligible voters know enough about ‘issues’ to have cogent opinions about them, so any clue to character , morality, biases , loyalties, fortitudes must be laid out bare for debate and action” She added.
